Clutch Coffee Bar Locations Sold, Temporarily Closed Following Acquisition

The Clutch Coffee Bar location on Lake Murray Boulevard has been sold as part of a recent acquisition by Dutch Bros., a national coffee chain.

As a result of the sale, all Clutch Coffee Bar locations closed on Friday and are expected to reopen following a rebranding process. A brief closure will allow for remodeling and conversion to the Dutch Bros. brand.

Company officials have not yet confirmed whether all three Midlands locations will reopen. In total, 20 Clutch Coffee Bar locations across North and South Carolina were included in the purchase.

Dutch Bros. was founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma. The company is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, and originated in Grants Pass, Oregon. While the brand has a strong presence in the western United States, Dutch Bros. has expanded rapidly into new markets in recent years.

Additional details regarding reopening timelines and specific locations are expected to be announced at a later date.
