Columbia Children’s Theatre (CCT) is excited to announce its upcoming production of Pippin, a classic tale that follows a young prince on his journey to find meaning and fulfillment in life. Throughout his quest, he faces various challenges including battles, temptations, and family conflicts, ultimately learning valuable lessons about identity and love.
This rendition of Pippin will feature performances by CCTeens, talented young actors from grades 7-12 who are part of CCT’s YouTheatre program. The program is dedicated to providing young people across the Midlands with performance opportunities that foster growth and creativity in the performing arts.
“Pippin is a fantastic show for young performers to really sink their teeth into,” said CCT Artistic Director Jerry Stevenson. “It’s a demanding production that pushes them to grow not just as performers but also as storytellers. Watching these young artists rise to the challenge is truly inspiring.”
Sadie Carr, CCT’s Operations Director, added, “These kids have exceeded our expectations in every way. They’ve put in the hard work, and the results speak for themselves. We can’t wait to share their incredible performances with the community.”
The Pippin production will be held at the new Lexington 2 Performing Arts Center located at 3205 Platt Springs Road in West Columbia, from October 18 to October 20. Tickets are priced at $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
