IRMO – Country music legend Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry will take the stage at Harbison Theatre on Thursday, September 25, to launch the 50th anniversary celebration of the Okra Strut Festival.
Known for their Southern rock-infused country sound, Montgomery Gentry—founded by Eddie Montgomery and the late Troy Gentry in the 1990s—rose to fame with hits like My Town, Something to Be Proud Of, and Gone. The Kentucky natives became fan favorites, performing alongside icons like Toby Keith, Charlie Daniels, and the Allman Brothers Band.
Montgomery’s performance at Harbison Theatre sets the tone for the “Golden Strut,” a two-day celebration at Irmo’s Moore Park on September 26 and 27. This milestone marks half a century of community, music, and family fun in Irmo’s signature festival.
