he Columbia-Richland Fire Department (CRFD) has once again been honored as a Fire Safe SC Community, marking the fifth straight year the department has received this prestigious designation. This recognition highlights CRFD’s unwavering dedication to promoting fire safety and education within the community.
In 2023 alone, CRFD’s fire prevention staff delivered 211 fire safety presentations and installed over 300 free smoke alarms in local homes. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
Additionally, the department introduced its innovative Community Connect portal this year. This new tool allows residents to provide important information about their properties, which can be invaluable in the event of an emergency.
