IRMO, S.C. — Mayor Bill Danielson was named a Board Member Emeritus of the South Carolina Philharmonic on Sept. 15 in recognition of his 18 years of service on the organization’s board.
Danielson served four years as board president, the longest presidential tenure in the organization’s history.
During his 18 years of service, Danielson contributed his time, expertise and community partnerships to support the Philharmonic’s mission and expand its presence in the community.
His efforts included launching the organization’s annual golf tournament, now in its 16th season, and creating opportunities for the South Carolina Philharmonic to present free community concerts at local schools, churches, medical facilities and parks.
The Philharmonic recognized Danielson for his longstanding support and efforts to expand access to music throughout the community.
