Lexington-Richland School District Five will hold its 2021 Teacher Recruitment Event on Feb. 6 to give jobseekers an opportunity to learn more about schools and services in the district and talk one-on-one with administrators.
Due to COVID-19, the district will utilize a virtual platform to interview candidates. Candidates will have the opportunity to speak with School District Five administrators through live video chat features, chat live with current teachers in the district to gain insight into the district’s professional development opportunities and overall environment, as well as view videos about each school. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Candidates must register before the event by visiting bit.ly/D5Recruits.
“School District Five is committed to attracting, hiring, and retaining the best possible quality candidates,” said School District Five Chief Human Resources Officer Dr. Tamara Turner. “The Teacher Recruitment Event offers a unique opportunity to bring together highly effective educators with school and district leaders looking to fill vacancies.”
Vacancies for the upcoming school year will vary and contracts may be issued the day of the event. Candidates are encouraged to submit an application to the district prior to the event by visiting bit.ly/TeachIn5Apply. Jobseekers attending the district’s Virtual Teacher Recruitment Event are able to upload a resume to the virtual platform prior to the event for interviewers to access and review.
The district’s Office of Human Resources will also host two virtual meetings,
“Top Tips for Navigating the Virtual Recruitment Event”, before the Teacher Recruitment Event for candidates at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 14 and Wednesday, February 3. Attendees are asked to pre-register by visiting bit.ly/TeachIn5VirtualEvents.
“The Teacher Recruitment Event is an exciting event where we have the opportunity to connect with new and experienced teachers who are interested in joining School District Five,” said School District Five Coordinator of Personnel Melanie Cohen.
“Through a virtual platform, principals and school leaders will connect with interested teachers to discuss opportunities in our district for the 2021-2122 school year. As always, we are looking for the best and brightest teachers to join our district to make a positive impact in our classrooms and community.”
