Winning the boys and girls basketball titles in Region 4-5A was not the only “sweep” accomplished by Dutch Fork.
As both teams awaited their respective Class 5A Division I opponents, their players and head coaches were recognized by the region.

For the third consecutive year, Dutch Fork girls’ head coach Candace Bush won Region Coach of the Year. She has led the program to region titles in all three seasons of her tenure.

The Lady Silver Foxes had four players on the All-Region team. Aaliyah Lee, Trinity Crumlin, Jamia Gerald and Avani Adams made the list. They play host to J.F. Byrnes Friday.
On the boys’ side, Dutch Fork head coach Bret Jones was once again named Region Coach of the Year. Senior forward Justus Bell was also honored as Region Player of the Year.
He averaged 20.1 points, six rebounds and 2.8 assists in leading the Silver Foxes to a 22-3 record. The boys also had four All-Region players with guard Samajee Govan, Caleb Garner and Jake Bogan making the team.

Dutch Fork will play host to Tuesday’s winner between Mauldin and Spring Valley on Saturday.
