Dutch Fork High School Teacher and Student Recognized by Irmo Chamber

We are thrilled to announce that Dutch Fork High School’s very own teacher, Ms. Holly Myers, and student, Stella Jones, have been honored as the Teacher and Student of the Month by the Irmo Chamber.

Ms. Holly Myers: A Passionate Advocate for Inclusion

Ms. Myers, who teaches our intellectually challenged students, is not only dedicated to her role but has also been recognized as the current Teacher of the Year. Dr. Gerald Gary, the proud principal of Dutch Fork High School, commended Ms. Myers for her unwavering commitment to her students.

“One of her major goals as a teacher is making sure her students have transitional services so that they can move from the classroom into employment after graduation,” Dr. Gary stated. “She is an advocate for inclusion and is a major supporter of the Polar Plunge at Lake Murray that raises money each year for the Special Olympics program. We are proud to have her at Dutch Fork High School.”

Stella Jones: A Star Among Stars

Stella Jones, the Student Body President and a member of the STEM Honors Program, has been shining brightly at Dutch Fork High School. Dr. Gary praised Stella for her exceptional dedication to school activities and her leadership role.

“She is always arriving at school early and staying late to capture pictures of clubs and sports for the yearbook,” Dr. Gary said. “She is a star among stars on campus, and we are so proud that she is a part of our Silver Fox Family.”

Dutch Fork High School is honored to have such outstanding individuals in its community. Ms. Myers and Stella Jones are not just contributors to academic excellence but also role models for their peers. Congratulations to both for this well-deserved recognition!
