Community members at the 3rd Annual Irmo Earth Day Celebration hosted by McGregor Presbyterian’s Green Team visited 20 fun learning stations about soil, water, plants, wildlife, recycling, and solar energy.
Community partners included Keep the Midlands Beautiful, Irmo Middle School, Irmo High School, Lexington County Soil & Water Conservation, Lexington County Waste Reduction & Recycling, SC Forestry Commission, St Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Universalist Unitarian Church, the University of SC, and Whitehall Garden Club.
Earth Day sponsors included Fill the Bin Textile Recovery, Mathias Sandwich Shop, Seven Oaks Plant Shop, Sharp Edges Knife & Tool Sharpening, and Wingard’s Market.
Proceeds will support the D5 Snack Pack Program for area schools.
