For the Record

Irmo News

Letter to the Editor:

I want to clarify something which was said in last week’s article regarding George Frazier being disqualified to run for Irmo Town Council. For the record, I did not research information on all candidates. That information came from posts on Facebook Pages about two candidates. And I was supplied that information from multiple other people.

Yes, I did take the information about George Frazier using his Richland County address of 142 Rose Oak Dr on his Statement of Intention of Candidacy when he filed to run for Irmo Town Council, along with the Richland County Tax Records showing he had sold that home on 9/30/22. So he moved from that address, and according to Whitepages.com was listed at living in Lexington County at 2400 Ashland Rd, E5, which is not in town when he filed to run for Irmo Town Council.

According to George he was living at another address in Lexington County and in the Town of Irmo when contacted by Lexington County Election Commission. Yes, he had not notified the Election Commission nor had he, from my understanding, registered to vote at that in-town address. Therefore, not entitled to vote in the Irmo Elections, hence can’t run for office this election. But according to these documents, he moved from and in-town Richland County address to an out-of-town Lexington County address to an in-town Lexington County address.

But what he glossed over is the fact that he used a false address for his residence when filing, and had sold that residence one year earlier. This is considered fraud, and a felony, according to what I have been told, but all these documents have been provided to SLED Election Fraud Department for them to decide what if any laws have been broken and resolve according to the law. Whether he is allowed to run again, or disqualified as an elector, is up to that outcome.

Whether the Town should allow an individual who claimed a false address in order to run as a Candidate should be serving in any capacity, committee member, etc. is something I do believe should be addressed by Irmo Town Council after the election.

Sincerely,

Hardy King
