Golf Tips for Seniors: Using your Core Muscles

By Robin All

Over the last two weeks, we’ve covered both the backswing and the follow-through. But after watching the Ryder Cup, I realized something important—golfers should focus more on developing their core muscles than relying just on their hands and arms.

The top players generate power through their lower body, creating rotational speed and ground force. Think about other sports: when you throw a ball, swing a bat, or hit a tennis shot, the motion starts from the ground up—with your feet first!

Apply that same principle to your golf game. Use the athletic moves you’ve already practiced in other sports, and remember: spin to win!
