Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina (GIUMSC) has announced the appointment of Derek Stapleton as the organization’s new Vice President of Finance.
With more than 25 years of experience in financial management, Stapleton brings expertise in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and fiscal oversight. His track record of implementing financial practices and data-driven strategies align with GIUMSC’s mission of helping people become independent through education and employment.
In his new role, Stapleton will lead the financial direction of GIUMSC, overseeing key functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and regulatory compliance. He will also play a role on the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial insights to guide organizational decision-making and drive sustainable growth.

Stapleton’s appointment comes as GIUMSC continues to expand its workforce development programs, open new Resource and Opportunity Centers, and deepen its impact throughout the 16 counties it serves.
