A groundbreaking ceremony was conducted for the new wing addition to Irmo High School on March 8. Dr. Kaaren Hampton, the school’s principal, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, including past Lex/Rich District Five board members, politicians, teachers, and students. The groundbreaking was performed by Board Chair Rebecca Blackburn Hines and trustees Matt Hogan, Kimberly Snipes, Elizabeth Barnhardt, Catherine Huddle, Mike Satterfield, and Kevin Scully, along with District Superintendent Dr. Akil E. Ross, Sr., and Irmo High Mascot Sting.
The new wing addition will be situated along Wescott Rd. on the grounds of Irmo High School. This expansion is a significant development for the school, contributing to its infrastructure and facilities.
