Harbison West Elementary Receives $5,000 Donation from New Burlington Store

Burlington Stores has donated $5,000 to support classrooms at Harbison West Elementary School Global Magnet, celebrating the opening of its new location in Columbia.

The contribution was made through a partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org and will be used to purchase school supplies and classroom materials to benefit students and teachers.

A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org worked with district and school leaders to help secure the funding. Principal Thomas Turner said teachers will use the donation for a variety of classroom needs.

“This generous gift from Burlington Stores and AdoptAClassroom.org is a wonderful example of what happens when communities come together to support education,” Turner said. “By investing in our teachers and classrooms, they are helping create an environment where students can learn, grow, and reach their full potential. We are grateful for partners who share our commitment to student success.”

The donation coincides with Burlington’s newest store, located at 136 Harbison Boulevard. Company officials note that each time a new store opens, Burlington celebrates by supporting local classrooms in the surrounding community.
