The Irmo location of the burger brand Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries closed on October 29.
“Business hasn’t been great since COVID, and unfortunately, our landlord isn’t renewing our lease after our 10-year term,” the now-closed shop said on Facebook.
Irmo’s location had been open since July 2013. The Lexington Hwy 55 (at 1795 S Lake Dr.) is expected to remain open.
According to the Hwy 55 website, the only Midlands sites were in Lexington and Irmo, bringing the total number of restaurants in the state to nine. Other locations can be found in North Carolina and Tennessee.
