The Town of Irmo held a special Town Council meeting Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Town Hall.
During the meeting, council approved a Letter of Conditions from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that will allow the town to accept $1.9 million in federal funding toward construction of a new town hall.
Approval of the letter authorizes Town Administrator Jim Crosland to move forward with procurement on items specified in the agreement. Several conditions require products to be domestically produced, with additional American-made manufacturing requirements.
Patty Walker of the USDA’s Aiken office participated in the meeting via teleconference and provided council with an overview of the letter, including procedural requirements and timelines for the $5.893 million project.
The federal funding was originally earmarked in 2024 and is now being formally presented to council. The new town hall will be constructed in Moore Park and funded through a combination of USDA funds, a $1 million state allocation, and $3 million from the town’s general fund.
In other business, council approved the purchase of a Hustler HyperDrive mower from Hilton’s Power Equipment at a cost of $18,323.94.
With two agenda items addressed, the meeting was adjourned.
