IRMO, SC – On Monday, November 18, Girl Scout Troop 3472, made up of third graders from District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties, had the exciting opportunity to meet with Mayor Bill Danielson. The visit was part of the Scouts’ efforts to earn their democracy and community badges while learning about the role of local government.
Mayor Danielson shared insights about his responsibilities as mayor, answered questions, and inspired the Scouts to think about how they, too, can make a difference in their community.
“These young leaders are already showing a commitment to understanding how their community works,” said one troop leader.
The visit was a meaningful step in their journey to become active and engaged citizens.
