Irmo Hosts Sizzling Chili Cook-Off

The Town of Irmo Events Committee turned up the heat on Saturday, January 25, with its annual chili cook-off at Moore Park, located at 7473 Church Street. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The park buzzed with activity as attendees sampled a variety of chili con carne entries from local favorites, including the Irmo Fire Department, Nannybird’s Nummies, Grimes, the Irmo Police Department, and many more.

McGregor Presbyterian sold empty bowls to benefit the Snack Pack Program at District 5 schools

Guests enjoyed a flavorful range of chili offerings—some spicy, some savory, and all downright delicious. McGregor Presbyterian Church also participated by selling handmade ceramic bowls, with proceeds benefiting the Snack Pack Program in District 5 schools. Adding to the fun, Louie and Josie, two friendly pups, were on hand to warm hearts and enjoy some well-deserved petting.

In the end, Chief Dale’s “Notorious P.I.G. Chili” stole the show, earning first place and the title of Town of Irmo Events Committee Chili Cook-off Champion for 2025.
