Irmo Middle School is celebrating a milestone as its C Team Football program finished the season undefeated with a 7–0 record, the first perfect season for the team since 2022.
Players and coaches were honored during halftime of the Jan. 21 boys basketball game, with families, students, and staff on hand to recognize their achievement. A commemorative banner was unveiled and will be displayed permanently in the school gym as a tribute to the team’s hard work and success.
“We have a great brotherhood here at Irmo with a great coaching staff,” said 8th grader Collin Hannon. “We worked really hard this year, and the coaches pushed us, but we persevered. The recognition feels amazing.”
Coach Johnny Johnson credited the players’ commitment, sportsmanship, and resilience for the undefeated season. “This is a tremendous accomplishment and shows the dedication our student-athletes bring both on and off the field,” he said. “Middle school programs don’t always get this recognition, but we’re proud to honor this team and a season they’ll remember for years to come.”
