IRMO – Irmo Middle School has been named a 2025 Model School by the Center for Model Schools.
Model Schools are described as forward-thinking schools that drive transformation, inspire change, and implement groundbreaking strategies to improve student outcomes.
After attending the Model Schools Conference last year, Irmo Middle School administrators were inspired by the experience and set sights on this incredible opportunity to showcase the work being done to identify and mitigate student disconnection. Through a dedicated application process and an in-depth interview phase, they proudly earned this distinction.
As part of this recognition, Irmo Middle School will present at the Model Schools Conference 2025, engaging with more than 5,000 educators to share insights on their success.
“I am thrilled that Irmo Middle School is being recognized as a Model School for the 2024-25 school year,” Irmo Middle School Principal Mansa Joseph said. “We will share our strategies to support students, including our MTSS process, the HIVE after-school program, and our school-wide clubs during our presentation at the conference in June. This recognition affirms our commitment to fostering a connected and thriving learning environment, and we are excited for the opportunities ahead as we continue to love and grow our students!”
In addition to the annual Model Schools Conference, the Center for Model Schools supports leaders and educators through leadership coaching, strategic planning, curriculum alignment, data team implementation and shoulder-to shoulder leadership support. Its expert consultants partner with school and system leaders on customized visions that drive strategic change for their districts and improved outcomes for learners. The Center’s work is rooted in the philosophy that every child deserves to learn in a model school, and that leaders make it happen.
