Irmo Offers Free Electric Lawn Tool Rentals

The Town of Irmo has launched a new “Loan a Mower” Program to help residents keep their yards in shape, thanks to Mayor Bill Danielson, the Irmo Town Council, and a partnership with Irmo Outdoor Equipment.

Through the program, in-town residents can borrow electric lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and string trimmers free of charge.

To participate, residents must first register at tinyurl.com/2t76cm4y. Once registered, call Irmo Town Hall at 803-781-7050 ext. 107 to reserve equipment and schedule a pickup time of either 8:30 a.m. or 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Equipment is picked up at the Irmo Public Works facility, 7300 Woodrow Street, and must be returned within 24 hours. Items borrowed on a Friday are due back the following Monday at the same pickup time.

The town reminds participants to return tools on time and in good condition, as borrowers are responsible for any damages or lost items.

Residents can confirm their eligibility by checking their address at tinyurl.com/3sdar7ft. For more information on property maintenance expectations in Irmo, visit the town’s Code of Ordinances at tinyurl.com/5h6rwrke
