Irmo Police Department Community Foundation Distributes 313 Turkeys to Community

The Irmo Police Department Community Foundation distributed 313 turkeys donated by Walmart to individuals and families in need throughout the community during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Several organizations, churches, and community partners helped identify families in need, including:

Irmo Village Low-Income Housing; Presbyterian Church; Young’s Chapel AME Church; Macedonia Baptist Church; It’s All About Faith; Disabled American Veterans 92nd Buffalo Chapter and Auxiliary #20; Afghan refugee families; Sharing God’s Love Ministries; Golden Rock Fellowship Church; and Barnyard Worship Center.

“The generosity of donations and contributions to our efforts allow us the opportunity to help those in need,” said Hamad Javad, president of the Irmo Police Department Community Foundation. “We wish Irmo and the surrounding area a happy holiday season and offer each of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to come.”
