Irmo Police Officer Arrested/Terminated

The Irmo Police Department regrets to inform the public of an incident involving one of its officers. Officer Brandon McLaurin was arrested earlier today on charges of domestic violence following an altercation at his residence. The incident occurred in the New Friarsgate subdivision.

The Irmo Police Department takes allegations of misconduct and criminal behavior seriously, especially when involving its own personnel. The department is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation conducted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Upon learning of the incident, Officer McLaurin was immediately terminated.
