Irmo Town Council Attends MASC Conference

Irmo Town Council and staff members recently participated in the Municipal Association of South Carolina (MASC) conference held in Greenville. This annual event is dedicated to training, networking, and recognizing community development projects.

Council members Gabriel Penfield, Phyllis Coleman, Erik Sickenger, Dr. Barbara Waldman, and Mayor Bill Danielson were in attendance, along with Town Administrator Courtney Dennis, Assistant Town Administrator Doug Polen, and Director of Finance and Town Clerk René Cabiness. Special Projects Attorney Jake Moore also joined, contributing his expertise to the discussions.

The MASC conference provided the Irmo delegation with numerous professional development opportunities through a series of workshops and seminars. These sessions focused on enhancing municipal operations and community services. Additionally, the event facilitated meaningful networking opportunities, allowing the council and staff to connect with peers from across the state, exchange ideas, and explore innovative solutions to common challenges faced by local governments.

Community development projects were also recognized at the conference, showcasing successful initiatives from various municipalities.
