Irmo Town Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 15 at the Irmo Municipal Building located at 7300 Woodrow Street in Irmo.
This was the first official town council meeting forTown Administrator Jim Crosland.
“I had a great week settling in,” said Crosland.”It’s a pleasure getting to know the staff and council.” Crosland replaced Courtney Dennis who has taken employment in the private sector.
With no old business to discuss the council addressed new business by passing an approval to ratify the budget amendments for FY 24/25 totaling $1,1664,116.
An approval to allow the Town Administrator Jim Crosland’s name be admitted to the list for signing town checks passed.
An approval to bring back the successful ’The Boardr” Skate Park Event for 2026 in an amount not to exceed $25,000 from hospitality tax funds was approved. The event will be held in Rawls Creek Park. Last year the event came in below budget with numerous sponsors lowering the town’s obligation to roughly $8,000. Seventeen states were represented and included 72 participants.
An approval to purchase a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 4WD in the amount of $53,288 to be used by Code Compliance Officer Joe Nates also passed.
New businesses in town include Glow-Up Esthetics, Lake Murray Head Spa & Salon, Jocelyn Esthetics and the DB Studio.
Mayor Bill Danielson congratulated the Irmo Little League Junior Softball Team for heading to the Junior Little League Softball World Series after their wins in Friarsgate Park last weekend. “Everyone there loved the facilities and hopefully we’ll be seeing more of this in the future,” said Danielson.Irmo Kid’s Dental was recognized as the July 2025 Small Business of the Month. Their current facility is on Woodrow Street and a new dental facility will open on Lake Murray Blvd. in early August and is owned by Dr. Santana Jones.
