The Town of Irmo will hold a special election on Tuesday, June 3 to fill a vacant council seat.
Candidates Mike Ward, Ed Greco and George Frazier are vying for a seat that the winner would hold until late 2027.
George Frazier has twice held the position of Irmo Events Committee Chairman, Mike Ward is Okra Strut Chairman and a cyber security exper while Ed Greco is a retired SCANA executive and currently serves on the planning commission in Irmo.
All three candidates have expressed concerns about the town’s growth, infrastructure, community expression and spending.
The council seat opened when mayor pro-tem Erik Sickinger was arrested for criminal sexual conduct with a minor in March of this year.
