Burn Boot Camp has been in Irmo for about four years, but in December 2022 Hailey and Angel Irizarry took over as the new owners and kicked the operation into high gear.
Hailey had been a member for years, literally building a family at Burn. She had made so many friends there, going on beach trips with her friends from the gym, supporting each other’s accomplishments. She married Angel while she was a member, and while pregnant with their little girl Adelina she found out that the then-owner of Burn wanted to sell. Refusing to lose the family she created, Hailey and Angel bought Burn and improved it in every way they could. In their few months of ownership, they have increased membership by 15% to 150, and hope to have over 200 by the end of the summer.
Burn Boot Camp offers a supportive atmosphere for people of all fitness levels. In the words of trainer Jamie Voigt, “There is something here for everybody.” Each day is a completely different workout guided by professional trainers, and if you can’t make it in you can even follow the workout from home. The workouts can be modified for any fitness level or body type, and they offer free child watch at every workout so those with little ones can come out as well. Also, while Burn Boot Camp used to be ladies-only, it is now open to everyone.
Burn Boot Camp is located in the Irmo Village Shopping Center behind Lizard’s Thicket at 7595 St. Andrews Road.
