Metal and rock came together as the sounds of high energy music wafted through the evening air in the Town of Irmo as it kicked off it’s Spring Concert Series on Friday, April 25 with MetalBox and Shot Thru the Heart-The Bon Jovi Experience. The event began at 7pm in the Moore Park with gates opening at 6pm. Beverages and food were provided by Craft and Draft, Cox Family BBQ, Roy’s Grille, Kona Ice of Irmo and KW Beverage. VIP’s were treated to cuisine from Luzianna Purchase and Cypress Market.

MetalBox was a finalist in the Irmo Battle of the Bands held last fall and performed a blend of rock covers from various artists. The Bon Jovi tribute band, Shot Thru the Heart, took over the Prisma Health Amphitheater stage at 8pm playing all the iconic band’s greatest hits and closed the night out around 10pm. State Farm was the presenting sponsor which included agents Theresa Miley, Terri D. Brock, Shannon Rikard, Libby Hagins, Bobby White and Amy Masincupp. The Hospitality Center Sponsor was Window World of the Midlands.
Friday, May 2nd, will be the second in the Spring Concert Series featuring Let’s Get It On and Moonkatdaddi beginning at 6pm in the Moore Park.
The third and final concert in the series is planned for Friday, May 9th featuring energetic covers from the 70s and 80s by Hijacked Duo and 90210 Radio.
