WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s professional development program, Institute for Organization Management, proudly announces that Kerry Powers, President & CEO of the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce, has successfully completed her second year at the Institute for Organization Management. This four-year nonprofit leadership training program took place at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.
“Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in their industries and organizations,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, the U.S. Chamber’s vice president of Institute for Organization Management. “These individuals have the knowledge, skills, and dedication necessary to achieve professional and organizational success in the dynamic association and chamber industries.”
Since its inception in 1921, the Institute program has been dedicated to educating tens of thousands of leaders in associations, chambers, and other nonprofit organizations. The curriculum includes four weeklong sessions at various university locations nationwide. Participants engage in required courses and electives covering leadership, advocacy, marketing, finance, and membership, which enhance their organizational management skills and contribute to more efficient and effective operations.
