Leaphart Elementary Inspires Young Authors

Leaphart Elementary is proud to announce that nine of its students are on their way to becoming published authors, thanks to the inspiring visit of author Stan Tucker and his writing program, Share Your Story.

Author Stan Tucker, known for his book “Stan and The Man” and his YouTube Channel, The Very Airy Library, visited Leaphart Elementary from October 2nd to 6th. During his visit, Tucker shared his passion for writing and the importance of kindness, guiding students through the writing process and igniting their creativity.

Each grade level had the opportunity to engage with Tucker, participating in activities and discussions aimed at launching their writing journey. Tucker met with each class individually, providing writing mini-lessons and personalized feedback, empowering students to develop their stories.

Over the following months, students diligently worked on their stories, drafting, revising, and editing with guidance from their teachers. Through peer-editing sessions, they refined their narratives, taking ownership of their writing.

After submission, Stan Tucker and his team carefully selected the top authors from grades 3 to 5. These talented young writers will have their books professionally illustrated and published, with a special presentation planned at the Picture Book Perfect event in Athens, Georgia on May 18th. Their books will be available for purchase on Amazon, with all proceeds directly benefiting the young authors.

Leaphart Elementary celebrates the creativity and achievement of these budding authors, inspiring the entire school community with their literary accomplishments.
