COLUMBIA, S.C. — Firefly Toys & Games will celebrate its 15th anniversary Sept. 12 with a full day of giveaways, free activities and special events for the community.
The celebration will run from 10 a.m. until midnight at the store, located at 736-C St. Andrews Road in Columbia.
Owners and staff have planned activities for all ages, including giveaways, crafts, Pikachu meet-and-greets, miniature-painting lessons and a variety of board game learn-to-play experiences.
Most of the activities are free, and all events are family-friendly and open to all ages. A complete schedule and additional information are available on the store’s website.
Over the past 15 years, Firefly Toys & Games has grown from a small game store into a community gathering place. Its current location features a retail space and a large play area where customers can try games, participate in activities and spend time with friends.
The store has become a welcoming “third space” for community members of all ages to connect with others while enjoying their hobbies.
The anniversary celebration also will benefit Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia. Proceeds from the Sept. 12 events, along with sales of a commemorative 15th-anniversary T-shirt, will be donated to Epworth. Last year, Firefly raised more than $600 for the organization through its annual celebration.
