COLUMBIA, S.C. – Back by popular demand, Murder on Main Street returns for an encore presentation on Thursday, July 25 at The Venue on Main, located in the heart of downtown Columbia.
Presented by the Friends of the Irmo Branch Library in partnership with LTC Hospitality Solutions, this immersive Mystery Dinner Theater promises an evening of intrigue, laughter, and vintage flair. Last year’s performance was a sellout, and this year’s encore is expected to fill up quickly—so early ticket reservations are strongly encouraged.
Set in 1910, the play unfolds at the Grand Theater on Columbia’s bustling Main Street. The story takes a dark turn when Flo Conway, a knife-thrower’s assistant with big dreams of vaudeville fame, stumbles out of the theater with a knife in her back. But who had the motive to kill?
Written by local author Licia Jackson, Murder on Main Street draws audience members into a cast of colorful suspects: a jealous magician, a philandering senator, a vengeful wife, a fiery reverend, and a suspicious ex-boyfriend. It’s up to the audience—and madam Maude O’Riley—to crack the case.
Guests will enjoy a full dinner while interacting with local actors and fellow amateur sleuths. One audience member who successfully identifies the killer will be crowned the “Super Sleuth” and take home a grand prize.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1910s vintage attire for a chance to win the costume contest, judged by audience vote.
