Now Open at the Big Red Barn
IRMO — Crafters and creatives in the Irmo area have a new destination! Searsport Rug Hooking, a long-established arts and crafts business, has opened its doors in the Big Red Barn (formerly Beckham’s Barn) at 1751 Kennerly Road, near the traffic circle.
The shop is open Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and offers a unique array of supplies and classes in rug hooking, wool appliqué, punching, and more. Owners Julie and Neil Madison have been in the rug hooking business for more than 25 years, building a loyal following with their high-quality fabrics, hands-on workshops, and creative community events.
The Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce and Town of Irmo gave the Madison family a warm welcome during a ribbon-cutting celebration, celebrating their passion for fiber arts and their commitment to small business.
