On a rainy afternoon in April the New Irmo News took top honors at the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce 2025 Annual Spring Golf Tournament. Held at Mid Carolina Club in Prosperity on Thursday, April 24, the weather was a factor as nearly 30 teams slogged across the golf course.
The New Irmo News team has placed in the GICC tournament many times since 2002 but never prevailed until now.
Willie Jewell’s Old School Bar-B-Q sponsored the food and 19th hole award celebration and Optus Bank was the presenting sponsor for the tournament.
