Nolan Thompson, 9, competed in a Brazilian Ju-Jitsu competition last month in Greenville.
After 3 rounds, he earned a gold medal by submission in his no-gi bracket. Nolan also competed in the gi bracket and earned a silver medal. Nolan competes out of Spartan Academy.
Spartan Academy is owned and operated by Guybson Sa – a 4th degree black belt and former world champion who also was victorious at the meet bringing back four gold medals.

Nolan is a fourth grader at Nursery Road Elementary and has been practicing Ju-Jitsu for the last year and half.
The Spartan academy is competing November 8 in downtown Columbia at the Metropolitan Convention Center and the event is open to the public. There is a $20 admission fee for the competition.
