Grant Dupree, a senior at Dutch Fork High School, has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship to support his post-secondary education at Limestone University. This scholarship, generously provided by a collaboration between the Lake Murray Irmo Woman’s Club and the Irmo Okra Strut Commission, was presented to Grant during the Town Council meeting on April 16.
Grant earned the scholarship by submitting a compelling one-page essay, highlighting how financial support would enrich his academic journey. His essay particularly emphasized his active involvement in community service and volunteerism, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact beyond the classroom.
The Town Council extends its congratulations to Grant on this achievement and wishes him a successful and fulfilling inaugural year at Limestone University, beginning this fall.
