Philharmonic finale kicks off Southeastern Piano Festival

The SC Philharmonic will perform Concerto for Two Pianos featuring Marina Lomazov & Joseph Rackers June 12 at 6 pm and 8 pm with a live stream of the 8 pm concert. The stream is available on demand for one week after the June 12 performance. The concert is sponsored by M.B. Kahn Construction, Gail Morrison and Grace Outdoor.

The SC Philharmonic partners annually with the Southeastern Piano Festival (SEPF) to present the winner of the Arthur Fraser Piano Competition. Concerto for Two Pianos also features SEPF directors Marina Lomazov and Joseph Rackers, and serves to kick off the beginning of the 2021 Festival. Jessica Zhang will perform as the Fraser Award winner.

The South Carolina Philharmonic’s season finale concert also marks the beginning of this year’s Southeastern Piano Festival, which is hosted by the University of South Carolina School of Music. The festival presents a perfect symbiosis of the new generation of pianists in search of inspiration and challenge and the world-class guest artists who provide that inspiration.
