Columbia, SC – Pine Grove AME Church, located at 120 Steward Drive, invites the community to its Family & Friends Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, April 26–27, 2025. The weekend promises fellowship, fun, food, and faith for all ages.
Led by Pastor Dr. Stanley Flowers, Pine Grove AME is a church rooted in a rich history that began shortly after the Civil War, when former slaves gathered for worship during the earliest Bush Arbor Services. The congregation’s beginnings on Shuler’s Hill and Coogler’s Hill have grown into the vibrant community it is today.
The weekend celebration kicks off on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with games, music, food, and a variety of local community sponsors offering resources and support. On Sunday at 10 a.m., worship services will be held, followed by a catered dinner for all in attendance.
