Prisma Health Hosts Holiday Cheer Event for Children’s Hospital Patients

Prisma Health Children’s Hospitals are inviting the community to join their Good Night Lights event on December 1 at 7 Richland Medical Park Drive in Columbia. The event aims to spread joy and support for young patients and their families during the holiday season.

Good Night Lights Highlights:

  • Toy Drive Parade:

    • Arrive by 4:30 PM to decorate your car and join the parade, which starts at 5:30 PM.
    • RSVP is encouraged by emailing [email protected].
    • Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate at the end of the parade. For gift suggestions, check the Midlands Wish List.
  • Light Show:

    • Community members are encouraged to shine flashlights or blink car lights toward the hospital, sending positive vibes to patients who will “answer back” with their own flashlights.
    • Decorating vehicles is encouraged to enhance the festive atmosphere.
  • First Responders Parade:

    • After the Toy Drive Parade, park in the 9 Medical Park garage and enjoy a First Responders Parade featuring sirens, flashing lights, and rescue vehicles.

Dr. Caughman Taylor, senior medical director of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital, emphasized the importance of these events, saying, “Our goal is to heal the ‘whole’ child by considering their psychological and social needs. Community support through events like Good Night Lights brings joy and comfort to families and children alike.”
