Richland County Holds Small Business Forum

COLUMBIA – More than 400 entrepreneurs and business professionals attended the Richland County Office of Small Business Opportunity’s (OSBO) annual Small Business Forum, “THRIVE 25,” held October 15 at The Meeting Place Church and Conference Center.

The event served as both an educational conference and networking opportunity for established and aspiring small-business owners across the Midlands.

Dawn Nicole McIlwain, CEO of ProcuraFind, delivered the keynote address, inspiring attendees to build sustainable business practices and embrace innovation.

Other speakers included Richland County Council Chairwoman Jesica Mackey, Council Vice Chair Derrek Pugh, OSBO Director Pam Green, and Ayesha Driggers from the City of Columbia’s Office of Business Opportunities.

A highlight of the forum was a “fireside chat” panel discussion featuring local entrepreneurs who shared their personal success stories and practical insights into overcoming challenges in business ownership.

Following the presentations, participants had the opportunity to network with more than 250 businesses and organizations — ranging from major employers like Scout Motors to local enterprises such as Ford’s Fullcourt Pressure Washing.
