Dedicated Pediatrician, Community Mentor, and Father of Four Brings Family-Centered Care to Midlands Patients
The South Carolina Pediatric Alliance (SCPA) is pleased to announce that Dr. John Adent will join its team of pediatric healthcare providers on July 20, 2026. Dr. Adent brings a strong background in pediatric medicine, community involvement, and family-centered care to patients throughout the Midlands.
Dr. Adent earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, before pursuing his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah. He then completed his pediatric residency training at Memorial HCA Children’s Hospital of Savannah, where he developed a strong foundation in caring for children and families across a wide range of pediatric needs.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Adent has long been passionate about serving children and families. Throughout his academic and medical career, he has invested in mentoring young people through organizations such as YoungLife and church youth ministries, experiences that helped shape his commitment to pediatric care.

Dr. Adent and his wife, Regan, have four children and are excited to make the greater Columbia area their home. He enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, and serving in youth ministry.
Patients and families can schedule appointments with Dr. Adent at Sandhills Pediatrics Dutch Fork beginning July 20.
