School District Five Offers Golden Passes to Senior Residents

IRMO, S.C. – School District Five is once again inviting senior citizens to get involved in school events by offering its popular Golden Pass for the 2025–2026 school year.

The Golden Pass is available to any resident who will be 60 years old or older during the upcoming school year. This free, permanent photo ID card grants lifetime access to most athletic and cultural arts events hosted by the district — excluding playoff games.

District officials say the program is a great way to connect generations and celebrate the contributions of older residents.

“The Golden Pass program brings community members of all ages together and provides an opportunity to say thank you to our senior community for volunteering and supporting our schools,” said Superintendent Dr. Akil E. Ross, Sr. “When the stands are filled, our students feel supported by the community and recognized for their efforts.”

Golden Passes will be issued at the District Office (1020 Dutch Fork Road, Irmo) on the following dates:

  • Monday, July 22 from 1:00–4:00 p.m.

  • Tuesday, July 23 from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Once issued, the pass is valid for life and does not need to be renewed.
