Secretary of State Seeking Nominations for “Angel” Charities

South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond is now accepting nominations for this year’s Angel Awards, which honor outstanding charitable organizations across the state.

Each year, the Secretary of State recognizes charities that devote at least 80 percent of their contributions to charitable services, have operated for at least three years, make strong use of volunteers, and avoid heavy reliance on government grants. All nominees must also be in compliance with the South Carolina Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act.

Nominations for the 2025 Angels should include the organization’s name, location or contact information, and an explanation of why the charity deserves recognition. Letters may be mailed to:

Secretary of State’s Office, Division of Public Charities
1205 Pendleton Street, Suite 525
Columbia, SC 29201

or emailed to [email protected].

The deadline for nominations is September 30.
