The Irmo Police Department Community Foundation (IPDCF) will host Shop with a Cop on December 9 and 16 from 2 – 5 pm.
Shop with a Cop is a program to assist friends and neighbors in the community by adopting less fortunate families and providing them an opportunity to shop with an Irmo police officer for food, clothing, toys, and other necessities during the holiday season.
Shop with a Cop is organized by the Irmo Police Department Community Foundation in partnership with the Irmo Police Department to solicit donations, identify and select families or seniors and organize their shopping trip. These families are vetted and absolutely deserve the help that they receive. The sponsors of these families and seniors, whether an individual or business, are also invited to participate in this event so they can witness the difference they can make in someone’s life during the holidays.
These shopping trips are mostly funded by donations from community members and local businesses. Therefore, the foundations ask you to join in the efforts to raise enough funds to adopt as many families as possible. The project provides an opportunity to bring law enforcement and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Each family can be adopted for $100.
The donation deadline is December 3. Contributions can be mailed to PO Box 2692, Irmo, SC 29063 or delivered to Irmo Police Department, 1230 Columbia Avenue, Irmo. Checks or money orders should be payable to IPDCF. You also can visit https://irmopdfund.org and donate by credit or debit card.
