SLED Partners with Law Enforcement for Greg’s Groceries Food Box Packing Day

In an effort to support the community and strengthen police-community relationships, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) recently hosted over 70 law enforcement partners for the third annual Greg’s Groceries food box packing day.

Greg’s Groceries is an initiative by Serve & Connect, a Columbia-based non-profit organization dedicated to building positive relationships between police officers and the communities they serve. The event occurred on March 5 and saw law enforcement officers and SLED staff packing more than 1,500 boxes of non-perishable food, generously donated by Walmart store #2214.

The Greg’s Groceries food boxes are part of an ongoing effort to provide essential food items to neighbors in need throughout South Carolina. This initiative addresses immediate needs and fosters positive interactions between law enforcement and the community.

Such initiatives build trust and understanding between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve, fostering a sense of unity and support. Thanks to all involved in making Greg’s Groceries food box packing day a success and for their commitment to making a positive impact in South Carolina.
