Southeastern BBQ Showdown Returns to Columbia in 2026, Bringing the Heat to Gamecock Park

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Barbecue fans, mark your calendars! The wildly popular Southeastern BBQ Showdown is set to make its return to Columbia on April 24–25, 2026, and this time, it’s moving to a new home at Gamecock Park, just outside the University of South Carolina’s Williams-Brice Stadium.

Hosted by the Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board, the two-day event promises to bring the best of barbecue, music, and Southern culture to the heart of the Midlands. After its successful debut in 2024, the showdown gained national attention and was featured in a two-part television series on the FanDuel Sports Network. A follow-up special is set to air on the Cooking Channel on April 19 and 26, 2025, at 7 p.m. EST, giving viewers a taste of what’s in store for 2026.

“This isn’t just a barbecue competition,” said Miriam Atria, President and CEO of Capital City/Lake Murray Country. “It’s a celebration of everything that makes our region so special—community, great food, and true Southern hospitality.”

The showdown will feature top pitmasters from around the country, each vying for the title of Grand Champion. Guests can look forward to BBQ tastings, a vendor expo, interactive exhibits, and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

Gamecock Park’s new role as host venue is expected to bring even more energy and accessibility to the event, drawing locals and visitors alike to experience Columbia’s unique charm.
