The South Carolina State Fair is calling on exhibitors from across the state to showcase their talents in this year’s competitive exhibits, which will be on display during the fair’s run Oct. 8–19 in Columbia. Entries are open now through Sept. 1 at scstatefair.org/competitions.
“Our competitive exhibits are the heart of the South Carolina State Fair and a tradition that has become a true representation of our state,” said Nancy Smith, general manager of the S.C. State Fair. “We’re proud to offer a platform where South Carolinians of all ages can showcase their skills and passions, and we can’t wait to celebrate their incredible work in October.”
The longstanding competitions highlight South Carolina’s best in 16 different categories ranging from agriculture and livestock to fine art, home goods, crafts, flowers, and more. The fair will award over $300,000 in premiums to winning entries.
This year, organizers are adding brand-new contests, including:
-
The South Carolina Slider Showdown
-
Eggless Brownie Baking Challenge
-
Harvesting Happiness Native Design Contest
-
South Carolina Seed Art Contest
The competitive exhibits are open to people of all ages, encouraging both seasoned participants and first-time entrants to share their craft.
