COLUMBIA, S.C. – Stormwater Studios invites the community to a magical day of art and nature on Friday, April 12, as part of its Art Day celebration. The highlight of the day is a Butterfly Release overlooking Kinsler Creek at 11:30 a.m., offering a serene and symbolic moment in a setting where creativity and conservation meet.
The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., includes a Pollinator Garden Tour at 10 a.m. and a Cyanotype sun print demonstration at 1:30 p.m.. Admission is free, and families, friends, and photography enthusiasts are encouraged to attend and enjoy the day’s offerings.
“The Butterfly Release embodies our commitment to fostering connections between art and the environment, offering visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of both,” said Michel McNinch, artist at Stormwater Studios.
Throughout the day, guests can tour artist studios, experience interactive art demonstrations, and view exhibitions featuring local and regional talent. Stormwater Studios, located at 413 Pendleton Street, provides a vibrant venue where art and ecology come together.
The event is sponsored in part by the Vista Guild and the Richland County Conservation Commission, whose support helps make this annual celebration possible.
