IRMO – School District Five recently wrapped up its annual Elementary Summer Reading Camp with a joyful celebration on July 17. The five-week program, designed to strengthen literacy skills and foster a love of reading, culminated with student presentations that highlighted their growth in both reading and writing.
During the closing event, students proudly shared stories and writing projects they worked on throughout the summer. Teachers, staff, and families were in attendance to celebrate the young readers’ achievements.
As a special surprise, each child received a brand-new backpack filled with school supplies and books — a gift aimed at encouraging continued learning and success as they head into the new school year.
