Summer’s Still Wild at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden!

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is keeping the fun rolling into late summer with a fresh lineup of events, new animal residents, and even a chance to make a difference in conservation—all while enjoying one of the Midlands’ favorite destinations.

New Faces You’ll Want to Meet

Suci the Sumatran Tiger
Suci (pronounced Su-chee) is the Zoo’s newest big cat on the block! This critically endangered Sumatran tiger has joined Riverbanks from Memphis Zoo as part of a Species Survival Plan and is already prowling around her new habitat.

Sherman the Wallaby Joey
It’s a boy! After a public vote, the Tammar wallaby joey has officially been named Sherman—a fun nod to “P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way” from Finding Nemo. Come watch this little guy hop into action daily in the Kangaroo Walkabout.

Nadya the Sand Cat
This 10-year-old desert beauty has taken up residence in the Conservation Outpost tunnel. Don’t blink—sand cats are famously elusive!
